Hichilema was in Kasempa to drum up support for a UPND candidate at Ward level.
According to the party media team, Hichilema and his entourage were well received and are delighted with their successful rally in Kasempa.
“People in Kasempa indicated they don’t want anything to do with the PF government as it is offering no hope to the improvement of their livelihood,” the UPND media team states.
Hichilema left Kasempa for Mufumbwe on Wednesday to join the MMD campaign team ahead of the November 8 by-elections.
The MMD and UPND agreed to work together in a loose alliance ahead of the Mufumbwe elections in their hope to form a future partnership that will provide the opposition with a stronger basis to offer checks and balances to the abusive ruling PF.
In Mufumbwe, Hichilema, will together with MMD leader Dr Nevers Mumba hold several rallies and will also take the opportunity to meet with UPND leaders in the province.
Hichilema was recently in Western and Eastern provinces where he held successful meetings in strengthening the UPND structures across the country.
Meanwhile, UPND Bweengwa MP Highvey Hamududu has exalted Hakainde for his impressive leadership style.
Hamududu has said it will be easy for Hichilema to defeat President Sata because the Patriotic Front is drifting away from the poor people.
The law-maker said Hichilema has the capacity to redeem the country from the alarming poverty levels the PF government was leading the country into.
