Machete wielding Patriotic Front cadres have battered former Republican President Rupiah Banda’s son Andrew in Mkaika Constituency with his colleague Solwezi Central Member of Parliament Lucky Mulusa reportedly abducted.
The cadres under the command of defence minister Geoffrey Bwalya Mwamba cornered Banda and Mulusa as the police watched helplessly.
Andrew who has been a strong pressence during the Mkaika by-election sustained serious injuries with the PF thugs reportedly kidnapping Mulusa who was in his company.
Meanwhile, voting closed in Mkaika with the MMD looking to take the seat that Patriotic Front’s David Phiri is recontesting after defecting from the MMD.
