Lawyers representing former president Rupiah Banda have applied for the quashing of one count of concealment of gratification involving 10 trucks as it would embarass the state.
The lawyers led by Erick Silwamba argued that the charge lacked specifics as the state did not identify the 10 vehicles and also failed to identify which public institution dealt with vehicles.
It was further argued that the case was laced with prejudice and lacked merit.
The case has since been adjourned to October, 22 for ruling.
Banda has religiously attended court proceedings despite the many adjournments that have been made.
