Given Lubinda’s days on the sidelines of the Patriotic Front power base may soon be over as cadres have been voicing his name as a replacement for the out of favour Secretary General Wynter Kabimba.
Cadres laid bare their demand at the memorial of Defence Minister Geoffrey Mwamba’s mother, Grace Chileshe Mwamba when they almost disrupted the ceremony shouting Lubinda’s name.
As Lubinda took his seat in the tent the cadres shouted, “Secretary General! Secretary General! Secretary General! Abesu (our own) abesu!”
The cadres also denounced Kabimba who they called a traitor.
Ironically Lubinda suffered at the hands of sponsored cadres who alongside The Post Newspapers called him a treacherous man.
The cadres demanded that Lubinda be reinstated to Cabinet Minister Status.
Lubinda was unceremoniously dropped as Cabinet Minister last year on what is believed a Kabimba camp instigated disciplinary process for allegedly leaking information to the opposition.
Curiously, most cabinet ministers attended the event with the notable absence of Kabimba and his tourism counterpart Sylvia Masebo who make up an anti Sata 2016 endorsement campaign commandeered by GBM.
