Nurses at Luampa Mission Hospital in Western Province are conducting deliveries under candle light due to lack of electricity.
The health personnel have to perform the delicate process of child birth using candles while in other cases patients are encouraged to come back in the morning if their cases are deemed not severe.
Patients have to cover long distances to seek medical attention.
Luampa is not connected to the national grid of electricity.
Delivery of quality health care was one of the Patriotic Front’s main campaign highlights whilst they were in the opposition.
