Movement for Multi Party Democracy mational chairperson Kabinga Pande says the President’s address to parliament neglected any pronouncements on development for North Western Province.
Pande said while there were statements about universities and health posts being being built in other provinces North Western Province had been left out.
“The President’s speech was full of promises and for me who comes from North Western Province there was nothing said for us in the speech in terms of development,” he said.
“Other areas have been told about roads, universities and clinics but for us there was nothing.”
And Lubansenshi Independent Member of Parliament Patrick Mucheleka said the President came short in addressing the issues concering the harassment of opposition MPs and also the selective application of the Public Order Act.
“The President has not said anything about the Public Order Act as you know the opposition has not been allowed to hold rallies and now when we go to our areas we are harassed by the police,” he said.
