Muchinga Member of Parliament Howard Kunda says the Farmer Input Supply Programme is turning out into a failure under the Patriotic Front government.
Kunda said the programme had failed despite receiving massive publicity from the state.
“This programme has received a lot of publicity but has not been handled well. There has been no inputs delivered in some places but we hear a lot of things said about the programme,” he said.
“The PF government has been giving lip service to this very important programme without any serious implementation. It is just irresponsible of the government to behave like this.”
Kunda said the payment of farmers who had sold maize to the government was also a disaster.
He said farmers could not make alternative plans to buy inputs as government had not paid them.
