Opposition Movement for Multi Party Democracy Copperbelt Province Publicity Secretary Yotam Mutayachalo said the confession by President Michael Sata that the Patriotic Front had not taken development to Luapula Province had vindicated them.
Mutayachalo said the people of Mansa were lucky that the Head of State had confessed to them about how low they have ranked on the development agenda of the country.
He said the opposition has always been saying that the ruling party has failed to take development beyond Muchinga Province.
“The President’s admission in Mansa that the PF has failed to take development there has vindicated us because we have long been saying that the PF government has failed to take development in the country beyond Muchinga Province,” he said.
“Now the President openly admitted and I am sure the people of Mansa know what to do. It had to take a by-election for the President to confess.”
President Sata who called MPS from Mansa useless and failures for failing to take development in the area said he would personally be forced to take development there if the status quo continues.
He was speaking in the heat of an election campaign when he went drum up support for PF candidate Chitalu Chilufya.
