Forum for Democracy and Development has celebrated their second place finish in the Mansa by-election despite being about 8000 off pace from the winning Patriotic Front candidate Chitalu Chilufya.
Party President Edith Nawakwi said the win had proved that FDD was growing and that it will be a stronger force in the 2016 general elections.
“On behalf of the FDD, I want to thank the great people of Mansa Central for having faith and confidence in the FDD vision by voting us, second,” Nawakwi said.
“We only campaigned for two months and no one gave us a chance when we started the campaign, but the people of Mansa have proved the naysayers wrong. Congratulations to Mr Mwape and the campaign team for putting up a spirited fight. The journey for 2016 moves on!”
