Kafubu Water and Sewerage has fired 34 plumbers under the commercial department for complaining about casualization.
The workers that sought anonymity told Zambia Reports that matters blew out of hand after they sought their gratuity following their three year service to the company.
According to the affected workers, the provincial administration had been notified about the problems at Kafubu Water and Sewerage but they had paid a deaf ear,
“Kafubu water & sewerage in Ndola has dismissed 34 plumbers under commercial dept from employment,” the source said.
“This came after the affected workers complained of casualization & the firm’s failure to pay them gratuity since their employment 3yrs ago.”
“The provincial govt leadership has been aware of the problems of the affected workers even before their dismissal & has done nothing to help.”
