The Zambia Episcopal Conference has demanded that government states how much was raised from the highly publicized removal of subsidies.
ZEC General Secretary Father Cleopas Lungu said the silence on funds saved or raised after removing subsidies is unhealthy.
“We want government to tell the nation how much was raised from the removal of subsidies. How were the resources raised used?” he asked.
“We were taken aback by the removal of subsidies without consultation with stakeholders and now that they have implemented the removal they have not told us how much they raised or saved.”
