Transparency International Zambia (TIZ) has encouraged the Judiciary to embrace the declaration of zero tolerance on corruption in its operations in 2014 as made by Justice Minister Wynter Kabimba.
TIZ Executive Director Goodwell Lungu says this is because of the worrying statistics which the TIZ and Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) unearthed in the 2012 survey research which indicated that about 60 percent of the people in the country do not have confidence in the way the Judiciary is handling cases.
Lungu says this is also why the Ministry of Justice should also fund all programs that will be earmarked to bring about transparency and accountability in the operations of the Judiciary.
Lungu says TIZ has also partnered with the Judiciary to produce service charters in 2014 for the Supreme Court, High Courts, the Magistrate Courts as well as the local courts in the country.
Lungu says this partnership is further meant to ensure that there is more transparency and accountability in the operations of the Judiciary.
