Opposition United Party for National Development President Hakainde Hichilema has disclosed that the police already had a pre-drafted warn and caution statement before they could even interview him on Monday at Woodlands police station.
And Hichilema said the PF is a party of hooliganism.
Featuring on an online CrossFire Blog radio on Tuesday night, Hichilema wondered why the police had summoned him to the station when they had not yet concluded their investigations.
He also said the Patriotic Front government was a failed project that will be judged by the Zambian people in 2016.
Hichilema was on Monday morning warned and cautioned for telling Zambians that the ruling Patriotic Front had planted militias in Kasama from their violent youth wing to deal with anybody sympathizing with Former Defence Minister Geooffrey Bwalya Mwamba (GBM).
PF youths commandeered by Copperbelt domiciled Chanda Kabwe violently trekked to Radio Mano where Father Bwalya was appearing on a live Radio station to bundle him out but was whisked away by police as the bloodthirsty approached.
“There were ugly scenes; a Member of Parliament beaten and cadres were battered for the kill basically nothing has been done. We were battered inside the police premises and I have to tell that before yesterday I had never seen a situation like that,” he said.
“When I went to answer the call out at Woodlands Police they had snipers on rooftops and over 150 heavily armed police officers armed to the teeth. How do you describe a situation like that?”
He said the police were in a hurry to intimidate him before they could even conclude their investigations.
“The police after all this when I went into the police, they already had a written statement. It was very strange we made additions and they let me go that they were still investigating; if they were still investigating why call me to the police? Why not conclude the investigations?” he said.
The UPND leader said despite PF youths having been filmed and shown on television and social media brandishing Pangas and machetes bragging about their escapades none had been arrested despite being known.
“PF hooligans, forgive may language, people who move with Pangas around, sharpening Pangas on our streets. Now you have PF cadres wearing military fatigues as seen on TV and You Tube,” he said.
“They have pangas if you watch that clip carefully and the President was asked about Pangas and he said he cannot stop people from buying or selling Pangas they are doing business that is more money in their pockets. “
He said, “What a joke and this person you saw is free today, no one has summoned them to the police but I get summoned to the police and we get brutalized within police grounds.Which law are we talking about? The people who killed each other when the President was having an event at the airport and rival PF cadres with machetes clashing with each other no one is charged today.”
Hichilema also said President Sata should just call for general elections as he was obsessed with by-elections.
“Since seats are being nullified in huge numbers and the judiciary through [Acting Chief Justice Lombe] Chibesakunda is being used to nullify opposition seats why not just call for a general election? Let him dissolve parliament since he wants elections,” he said.
He said he had not registered his sim card as he could not trust the PF who seemed obsessed to control every aspect of people’s lives.
Hichilema said Justice Minister Wynter Kabimba should resign to pave way for an impartial hearing during the tribunal set up to investigate the PF secretary general.
