Central Province Minister Obvious Mwaliteta says Zambian youths are lazy and only prefer trading in makeshift businesses.
Mwaliteta, who has commenting on the illegal fuel vending in Katuba Constituency that is driven by high unemployment levels, said the youths had proved that they were lazy and only preferred to venture in trading instead of looking beyond the makeshift stores.
“Zambian youth are very lazy and only prefer trading in Tuthembas (makeshift stores). Where has it taken them? They are still where they have been over the years,” Mwaliteta, a former minibus conductor and driver, said.
Katuba is taking a fair share of the spotlight as the ruling party is laying the ground for next months’ parliamentary by-election that was created following the death of incumbent MP Patrick Chikusu.
