An online publication operated by President Michael Sata’s press aide George Chellah has published an article alleging former information permanent secretary Emmanuel Mwamba is not Zambian but Tanzanian.
The publication – Source4Zambia – , which is one of the clandestine projects by Chellah and the Patriotic Front media unit to scandalise those critical of President Sata and the ruling party, has also alleged that Mwamba’s real name is GERI.
Chellah and his Patriotic Front director of communications counterpart Chanda Mfula also operate the Zambia Intelligence News (ZIN). The two publications are being used to rival critical websites like the Zambian Watchdog, Zambia Reports and sometimes the liberal Lusaka Times.
According to the article, Chellah’s publication states that Mwamba is a finished conman who claims to hail from Luwingu when infact he was Tanzanian.
“Geri’s close friend has told The Source that like any other economic refugee, Geri’s parents came into Zambia after fleeing poverty from Tanzania some decades ago.
“The friend has revealed that Geri later nicknamed himself as Mwamba and forged documents to enable him evade the immigrations department’s arrest,” the publication alleges.
“Up to now Geri aka Mwamba has been surviving on forged documents. Now that it has been discovered that Geri who is masquerading as a Zambian is a foreigner, Police are now set to move in and investigate Mwamba for duping the Zambian people.”
The publication has warned Mwamba that it is a matter of time before Home Affairs Minister Ngosa Simbyakula can declare Geri as a prohibited immigrant (PI).
“It is punishable by law to pretend to be a Zambian when you are not.
Geri, who was recently fired by President Michael Sata as Information Permanent Secretary due to being overzealous has been scandalizing people he perceives to be his enemies on various online newspapers. Time has caught up with Geri,” Chellah’s publication states.
Chellah and Mwamba have been on each others throat with the former believing the latter was after his job at State House when President Sata co-opted him into government.
Mwamba is also second Republican president Frederick Chiluba’s spokesperson.
