Justice Minister Wynter Kabimba says his seeking of an opinion from Solicitor General Mwenye was in his capacity as a citizen.
Kabimba who appeared before the judge Evans Hamaundu tribunal where he is accused of breach of secrecy of oath denied abusing his authority by using the legal opinion for party business.
Today was day two of the tribunal that was set by acting Chief Justice Lombe Chibesakunda on the instigation of former Solwezi Central Member of Parliament Lucky Mulusa and civil rights activist Brebner Changala.
Kabimba said any citizen was free to seek the Solicitor General’s opinion on any public matter.
He said he exercised that discretion as the matter at hand was of public interest.
The three member tribunal is expected to conclude its findings by February 20.
