The Patriotic Front will this afternoon hold their Lusaka District elections at the Mulungushi International Conference Centre with five positions being contested.
Pre-election discourse has been dominated by violence and security issues given the seemingly violent nature of the PF cadres that have stopped at nothing in the recent past in intra party clashes.
Police have put through a security alert warning that they will thoroughly screen entrants to the elections venue.
The chairmanship will be contested by President Michael Sata’s son Mulenga and incumbent Goodson Banda.
Other positions lined up are secretary, information secretary, and women chairperson and women affairs treasurer.
The PF district has had no functioning executive since its dissolution last year in October by President at the height of intra party clashes that saw a cadre hacked to death.
