Newly formed Alliance for opposition political parties in Zambia members have insisted that their grouping is going to last and shame its critics.
Alliance spokesperson Father Frank Bwalya said the leaders should not be vilified for exercising an option demanded by the Zambian people.
Father Bwalya said the alliance was going to succeed long enough for Zambians to see it as an alternative.
He said their sole objective was not to dislodge the PF from power but better the lives of Zambians through well thought out strategies and policies.
“The alliance will work; it will succeed because it is one of the cries that have come from the Zambian people. There is no need to insult the people behind the alliance that have decided to come together,” he said.
“Let it be clear that the alliance has not been formed to remove the PF from power but as a force with well thought out ideas that is going to offer itself as an alternative.”
Last Friday four opposition political parties announced the formation of an alliance.
The parties are the Alliance for a Better Zambia, People’s Party, Zambians for Empowerment and Development and the former ruling party MMD.
