GBMFormer Defence Minister Geoffrey Mwamba has opted to take a laid back position on the challenge by Vice President Guy Scott for him to resign from the ruling Patriotic Front.

Mwamba said he could not comment until at an appropriate time but indicated that he had noted Scott’s unprovoked attacks.

Scott on Tuesday called a press briefing where Mwamba was the subject with former Information Permanent Secretary Emmanuel Mwamba also being attacked as allegedly running GBM’s facebook account.

The Republican Vice President said the PF could not wait to have a go at the Kasama Central by-election once the incumbent who belongs to the ruling party is out of the way.

Scott said the PF would beat Mwamba in a by-election should he contest the seat.

PF’s schemes to hound out Mwamba are getting bolder by the day after their engineered expulsion recommendation from some Northern Province officials seemed to have fizzled.

Mwamba resigned his government position after President Michael Sata asked him to choose between Chief Mwamba and his cabinet portfolio.

President Sata has refused to recognize the Senior Chief Mwamba (the BashiluBemba’s choice) as Paramount Chief Chitimukulu.
