Former defence minister Geoffrey Bwalya Mwamba has arrived in his constituency, Kasama, where a by-election could be held soon if the ruling party schemes to expel him succeed.
Mwamba, popularly known as GBM, quit his government portfolio after differing with President Michael Sata over Chitimukulu designate.
The Lusaka businessman visited Chitimukulu, his grandfather whom President Sata has refused to recognise, and was told to chose between the position and his relative.
“It has been a productive and highly interactive. Kasama is always home coming home for me. Thank you Kasama! Thank you!,” he said.
GBM is also facing corruption allegations and his daugthters and wife has been summoned. Ironically, these alleged Zesco deals were said to be closed by the Anti Corruption Commission when GBM was defence minister.
Family lawyer Makebi Zulu says his clients will hand themselves before the law enforcement officers on Monday and Tuesday next week.
