Patriotic Front (PF) Kabwe youth chairman Paul Ngosa says that divisive elements in the ruling party have been shamed by the top leadership after an unconditional lifting of suspensions was made, reversing a number of disputed bans against members.
Kabwe, who was banned from the party by a splinter group within the party, has vowed to continue speaking out loud against the wrongs being perpetrated by some senior members of the PF who have personal hidden agendas.
He said from Kabwe that many PF members have suffered because of certain leaders who were harassing and intimidating other members for selfish reasons.
He said the suspensions, which were lifted by the PF deputy secretary general were among the reasons that brought about the squabbles that had characterised the ruling party.
“We are glad that our suspensions have been lifted. We feel relieved because we have suffered in the past,” he said.
Ngosa said the year 2014 must be the year for harmony, reconciliation peace and hard work for the PF because in the absence of these virtues, the party would not win the next elections.
He said some Members of Parliament were destabilising the party by influencing suspensions of members who had divergent views.
“I am one of those who were harassed for no reason but I want to ask every PF member to embrace reconciliation and work as a team. I also want to urge colleagues who were suspended with me and chased from our offices that as we go back to our offices lets work hard to bring unity and order to the party,” he said.
Ngosa said the PF top leadership must reaslise that reconciliation was a vital ingredient in strengthening the party.
He said the PF was a sinking boat in the absence of reconciliation.
He said PF members must understand that loyalty, consensus and reconciliation were needed if the ruling party was a salvage itself from the current nose-diving mode it had taken.
Ngosa said he would not allow anyone to threaten and silence him on any party matters because had the passion to work for the people of Zambia.
“I will not be silent in front of the attempts to scare us because of our contrary view towards our party.”
“Those who think they can infiltrate this the bond we have with the party’s central committee or circumvent it are mistaken. We will not stand silent any longer,” he said.
Ngosa was among scores of PF leaders who were suspended for having critical and divergent views against some Members of Parliament from Central Province.
The suspensions on all party members countrywide were lifted by the PF in January before the party started conducting elections at district level.
