Dora-SiliyaThe Supreme Court has further delayed a decision on the fate of outspoken former Petauke Central Member of Parliament Dora and two others on whether they can re-contest their seats.

On putting the matter on hold Supreme Court judge Marvin Mwanamwambwa ruled that two other cases had been filed before the same court by losing PF Solwezi Central MP Newton Malwa, Mkushi South’s Davies Chisapa and Kasenengwa’s Saul Zulu who want the winning candidates barred from standing after their seats were nullified.

Former UPND Zambezi West MP Charles Kakoma and his Vubwi counterpart filed a motion before the Supreme Court seeking the court’s interpretation on whether they are eligible to re-contest their seats.

Mwanamwambwa who is acting Deputy Chief Justice alongside six other justices said that the matter had been struck off until the other matters had been determined.

The judiciary has been thrown in turmoil following a PF scheme to bar outspoken opposition lawmakers whose seats were nullified from re-contesting their seats.
