Some Lusaka residents have urged the ruling Patriotic Front (PF) to be careful with the way they are handling the constitution or risk being voted out of power in 2016.
The residents have reminded the PF that no one asked them to start the constitution making process but on their own promised the Zambian people of a new constitution.
John Mulenga, a Lusaka businessman, says the PF is forgetting that they will need the people to win re-election in 2016.
And Charity Nyanga says the PF should be wary of their actions more especially on the constitution because a lot of people and stakeholders are frustrated with the manner the PF has handled the matter.
Nyanga adds that it is pointless for the PF to have embarked on the constitution making process knowing very well that they will not deliver a people driven constitution.
And Charles Banda, a youth, laments that huge amounts of money have been wasted on the constitution making process which could have been used to empower youths instead.
Another resident Jane Kampamba says government should tell the people of Zambia how much money has been spent on the entire process.
She says it is unfortunate the PF used the constitution as a way to get into power, stating the people will use the failure by PF to deliver a constitution to remove them from power.
