ShakafuswaThe post Katuba by-election bad blood has continued with the Zambia police summoning the winner Jonas Shakafuswa to appear before them on Monday.

During the poll that took place on February, 25 there were reported sporadic skirmishes that saw Northern Province Minister Freedom Sikazwe fire a gun at a polling station.

“I have been summoned to central division police headquarters in Kabwe on Monday,” Shakafuswa announced through his facebook page.

“My crime, stopping PF thugs from interrupting the recent election through violent thuggery acts.”

The election of Shakafuswa did not go well with the ruling party that had invested heavily in the poll.

Shakafuswa will appear in Kabwe which is over 100 kilometres away from the scene of the alleged crime.

“We got intelligence on Monday 24th Feb, that PF was bringing in thugs on the day of election to beat up people going to vote, to create artificial apathy.

“We organised ourselves and actually shared our intelligence with the police. The day of election a group led by Freedom Sikazwe, Judge Ngoma and a Mpundu, a policeman from State House, came in and started beating voters in full view of the police.

“We went in and managed to defend our victory. The police commanded [led] by commissioner Lungu managed to corner 3 busses loaded with thugs [loaded with] guns, pangas, shambokes, chains and stones.

“He was immediately ordered to release the thugs and busses. Why am I been summoned if the the criminals were freed. I cant be intimidated,” declared Shakafuswa.
