Beatrice-GrilloThe Non Governmental Coordinating Council has expressed sadness at the firing of Home Affairs Deputy Minister Efridah Kansembe.

Kansembe, who is believed to be a lead sympathizer of former Defence Minister Geoffrey Bwalya Mwamba (GBM), was dismissed on Thursday in a mini cabinet reshuffle.

A few months ago President Michael Sata had dared Kansembe to resign if she wanted to follow Mwamba but she had opted to stay on.

“We are saddened by the dismissal of a woman as Deputy Minister. We are always looking to increase the numbers of women in leadership positions. We are hoping the President replaces her with another woman,” NGOCC boss Beatrice, in picture above, said.

Here is the full reshuffle: Lands, Natural Resources and Environmental Protection Harry Kalaba has been taken to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the same capacity, replacing Wylbur Simusa, who has been transferred to the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock in the same capacity.

The President has also transferred Emmanuel Chenda from the Ministry of Commerce, Trade and Industry to the Ministry of Local Government and Housing, replacing Emerine Kabanshi, who has been transferred to the Ministry of Community Development, Mother and Child Health in the same capacity.

The Head of State has moved Mwansa Kapeya from the Ministry of
Information and Broadcasting Services to the Ministry of Lands,
Natural Resources and Environmental Protection, while has been
replaced at the ministry of Information by Dr. Joseph Katema, who before the reshuffle was Minister of Community Development, Mother and Child Health.

Robert Sichinga has been transferred from the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock to the Ministry of Commerce, Trade and Industry in the same capacity.
