Opposition Movement for Multi Party Democracy president Nevers Mumba says there will be a stakeholders meeting over the failed constitution motion.
Mumba said the opposition political parties, church and the civil society were set to meet on Saturday at a venue he did not name.
“After what happened in parliament we have been consulting and so far all the genuine stakeholders will meet on Saturday and plot the way forward,” he said.
“This is such an important matter that we cannot afford to brush it aside. The PF is too small to impede the will of the Zambian people.”
On Tuesday the motion moved by Mazabuka Central Member of Parliament Garry Nkombo was shot down by the ruling Patriotic MPs by a margin of 69 to 42.
Nkombo had moved a motion to compel government to give a clear roadmap on the constitution and expedite the process.
