The Technical Committee on drafting the constitution has broken its silence saying they do not want to be drawn into political battles.
Committee spokesperson Ernest Mwansa said they had put their position before the public and anyone wishing further clarification should write them a query.
The grand coalition on the constitution has challenged the Technical Committee to break its silence in the light of government laying the blame on them for the delayed delivery of the people driven constitution.
“We all as a country want this new constitution no matter how it comes. This idea of going to the press is not impressive. We have given our position on the matter and we should not be drawn into political battles,” he said.
“Let anyone with issues write us a query officially and we will respond.”
The government has blamed the Technical Committee for the delay in the handover of the constitution but recently shifted the blame to the five day constitutional challenge by the opposition in parliament for the further delay.
