MMD president Nevers Mumba has dispelled rumours that there is a rift between him and his two vice presidents Michael Kaingu and Brian Chituwo.
Mumba said the claims by some MMD youths that there were officials attempting to oust him may have been funneled to the youth by elements that want to disrupt the party.
He said he had meetings with his vice presidents and had not had any problems to suggest they were working against him.
“I have had meetings with my vice presidents on the forthcoming by-elections and we have a good working relationship,” Mumba said.
“I think the youths are telling a story they have heard from other people.”
Lusaka Province youth Scorpion Kadobi on Tuesday named some high ranking officials among them the two vice presidents as planning to oust Mumba.
