Traditional leaders in Mungwi District have come out in full defence of Paramount Chief Chitimukulu elect Henry Kanyanta Sosala slamming President Michael Sata for vetoing his election.
The 32 headmen and elders led by James Mubanga said President Sata was destroying the Bemba heritage by meddling in traditional affairs.
President Sata has refused to recognize the Bemba Royal Establishment’s election of Chief Mwamba as Paramount Chief Chitimukulu and has instead handpicked Chief Chewe as his choice.
The traditional leaders said it was wrong for President Sata to deploy armed police officers at the palace to prevent Sosala from taking over the throne as directed by the Bashilubemba.
