Alliance for a Better Zambia President Father Frank Bwalya says the revocation of Statutory Instruments number 33 and 55 has proved that the Patriotic Front has been experimenting with policies for the last two years.
And FDD President Edith Nawakwi said the revocation had vindicated her after Finance Minister Alexander Chikwanda accosted her for raising concern when the SIs were introduced.
Commenting on Finance Minister Alexander Chikwanda’s announcement to revoke the two SIs Father Bwalya said the PF government was ill prepared to run government as they had been on an uncertain trajectory.
He said that the PF had also been experimenting with governance.
“The revocation of SI 33 and 55 shows that the PF has been experimenting with policies and therefore with the lives of Zambians,” he said.
“It is very clear that they were not prepared to rule this country and are sending the country into a downward path.”
Nawakwi said, “I have consistently said that SI 55 and SI 33 are bad laws that would stress the Kwacha into depreciation but I was told that I am talking from the streets.”
“Now that the Kwacha is racing downhill faster than Usain Bolt, the minister has finally succumbed and seen sense from us from the streets.”
She said, “The problem with our friends is that they have failed to formulate any sound fiscal or monetary policy. And the tragedy is that they are too arrogant to listen to sound advice.”
