Zambians for Empowerment and Development say the Patriotic Front’s inconsistent policies were sending wrong signals to investors.
ZED president Fred Mutesa said that it was difficult for investors to predict the policy direction of the PF government.
Mutesa said the kwacha had suffered recently from one of the PF’s trademark off the blue policy pronouncements.
He said the PF had trivialized serious governance issues.
Mutesa said the policy statements were not mostly backed by substance but were made in vain.
On Friday Finance Minister Alexander Chikwanda withdrew two hastily announced Statutory Instruments that had banned quoting prices in dollars and also allowed the Bank of Zambia to monitor banks’ cash inflows and outflows.
