Zambian Breweries has announced an increase in the prices of retail prices for clear beer from 3.6% to 19%.
The company has attributed the increase in the prices due to a rise in inflation and excise duty.
In the 2014 national budget Finance Minister Alexander Chikwanda announced an increase in excise duty from 40% to 60%.
The increment is on non returnable bottles and Sorghum brewed Eagle Lager.
Zambians have continued to endure rise in general prices of commodities with fuel prices expected to shoot up.
