Fr BwalyaThe Alliance of opposition political parties says it is worried by the wrangles that have hit the Movement for Multi Party Democracy.

Alliance coordinator Father Frank Bwalya said that they were concerned because a weak alliance partner could weaken the alliance.

Fr Bwalya who is also Alliance for a Better Zambia President said that the MMD should quickly resolve their wrangles to pave way for a smooth build of the alliance.

“We think that what is happening in the MMD many weaken the party, we are worried because any problem with an alliance member may weaken. We want strong alliance members,” he said.

“We are confident the MMD will sort out their issues and continue on the track of helping Zambians realize a better country since the PF has failed.’

The MMD is in an alliance with the ABZ, People’s Party and the Zambians for Empowerment and Development.

On Monday some National Executive Committee Members (NEC) held a press briefing demanding an extraordinary meeting to elect a new leadership.

However party President Nevers Mumba has accused the ruling party of being the architect of the confusion by funding some MMD members.
