Double dealing former MMD National Secretary Major Richard Kachingwe has named his latest going price for destabilizing the former ruling party.
Kachingwe, who was expelled for secretly plotting to auction the MMD to the ruling Patriotic Front, has said he would easily wipe out the current MMD under Nevers Mumba for K1 billion.
He has since formed an organization mischievously dubbed “Save the MMD from Nevers Mumba” which renders credence to the theory that calls for an extra ordinary convention in MMD are well sponsored by Fred M’membe and State House.
“Anybody who loves democracy in this country must invest in us who are fighting Nevers Mumba. For me, if anybody had money today to give me – like K1 billion – I can get rid of Mumba in the next one week.
“I only require K20 million for a provincial conference and K800 million for a convention. If anybody had invested in this process by now we would have got rid of Nevers Mumba.”
The MMD has endured turbulent times with the two vice presidents Michael Kaingu and Brian Chituwo having confessed to meeting with PF members Fred M’membe and Wynter Kabimba to plot how they can auction the former ruling party.
However, the general membership has seen through the plot and has resisted the maneuvers opting to stay put and support Dr Mumba. Only four of the 66 National Executive Members are supporting calls for Dr Mumba’s resignation.
