The Independent Churches of Zambia says the behaviour by Patriotic Front cadres who have taken to locking up public offices each time they are aggrieved shows the nature of the organization they represent.
ICOZ chairperson Reverend David Masupa said that unruly behaviour seemed rooted in the PF structure as they had been grabbing land, beating each other and now locking up offices.
Masupa said the behaviour should be halted as it threatened the independence of public officials in executing their duties for fear of being harassed by cadres.
“The PF cadres should refrain from locking up public offices each time they are aggrieved because the behaviour is not reflecting very well on the party and also the President,” he said.
PF cadres have hit the headlines in the recent past by harassing public officers and locking up offices as a way of settling grievances.
On Wednesday the cadres locked up the Road Transport and Safety Agency offices demanding the removal of certain officers.
