President Michael Sata’s government is struggling to understand how the criminals that the Head of State recently released on parole are terrorising.
Five people were brutally murdered in a “movie like crime” on Thursday on the Kabwe Kapiri Road as police on the Copperbelt was gunning down four notorious criminals.
Police insiders have confirmed that the recent spate of crime is as a result of the criminals that were released without following parole procedure.
This has created anxiety in the Ministry of Home Affairs who want to dissociate President Sata’s decision from the criminal activities that are currently being committed by ex-prisoners.
Minister of Home Affairs Edgar Lungu on Saturday tried to explain that not all criminal activities that are being conducted involved ex-prisoners that were released by the President.
He claimed the government had a tracking system to understand how the ex-prisoners were integrating in society and reforming into good citizens.
