Former Solwezi Central member of parliament Lucky Mulusa is saddened to see the video first exclusively obtained and published by Zambia Reports documenting the chilling experience opposition UPND leader Hakainde Hichilema endured to escape harm from ruling Patriotic Front cadres.
The video posted Saturday night has gone viral on social media with a cross section of Zambians in and outside the country expressing shock and sadness.
Hichilema was featuring on a live radio programme at Ndola’s SUN FM where cadres thronged in huge numbers carrying different objects including guns and machetes. They started stoning the radio station before Hichilema was whisked away through the rooftop of the building.
Majority of Zambians including PF cadres are scared with the possible erosion of peace in the country and are calling on the ruling party to bring their unruly cadres under control
“OMG! [O my God],” Mulusa exclaimed upon viewing the video, adding; “This is sad. [It] reminds me of Mkaika when Andrew Banda and I were attacked by over 30 machete wielding PF cadres in the middle of no where with no where to run.
“Andrew ended up in hospital for several days. As if that was not enough, he was slapped with assault charges.”
Mulusa is just one of the thousands of Zambians that have taken to social media condemn the barbaric behaviour of PF cadres.
