Sixteen opposition political parties have written to President Michael Sata asking for a meeting over the constitution making process impasse.
The 16 include United Party for National Development leader Hakainde Hichilema, Movement for Multi-party Democracy’s Nevers Mumba, Alliance for a Better Zambia’s Father Frank Bwalya and National Restoration Party’s Elias Chipimo.
Among the demands is that President Sata should show direction on the constitution making process and also immediately release the draft constitution.
The opposition leaders have indicated that they will have no problem asking President Sata to chair the meeting that they reckon should be held soon.
President Sata has been strong headed on the constitution and refused to honour his 90 day promise to deliver the constitution.
He has so far taken to ridiculing advocates of a people driven constitution accusing them of yapping.
