COMMERCE minister Robert Sichinga has urged Mumbwa residents to persuade Dr Brian Chitowo to contest on PF ticket in 2016.
Sichinga said the PF was the only vehicle to achieve national development.
“Dr Chituwo is my good friend. Persuade him to stand on PF ticket so that together we can continue providing services to the people,” Sichinga said at the flagging of value chain cotton cluster in Mumbwa.
He further urged PF members countrywide to be proud and explain developmental projects taking place in the country.
“President Michael Sata always challenges us to explain what government is doing and I want also to challenge members to explain to the people,” he said.
He said while politicians like UPND leader Hakainde Hichilema were politicking, the government had continued delivering development to the people of Zambia.
“It is interesting that the PF has shown how wrong Mr Hichilema’s economic theories are. Us in PF we first create jobs and later count them; that’s what we are doing,” Sichinga said.
Sichinga said the government wanted Zambians to start creating wealth to resist donor aid attached to gay rights.
Meanwhile, senior chief Shakumbila on behalf of other chiefs complained that they have not been invited to State House while chiefs from different parts of the country have done so.
“We would like to see the President like others. Please convey our message to the President,” the senior chief said.
He, however, said the traditional leadership in the district would continue working with the PF government in its quest to deliver development to Zambians.
