The Zambia Episcopal Conference says the agenda of the proposed constitution making process indaba lacks content.
ZEC spokesperson Father Paul Samasumo said the organizers who are Southern African Centre for the Constructive Resolution of Disputes should have consulted all the stakeholders on how to handle the indaba.
Fr Samasumo said the political parties should have been brought on board as they were key stakeholders.
Sixteen opposition political parties have declined the invitation since President Michael Sata had not responded to their request to be present at the indaba.
Other leading civil society organizations have pulled out leaving Wednesday’s meeting in a shaky position.
Fr Samasumo said the indaba seemed more focused on the presentation of speeches and not on the draft constitution.
He said the indaba may just end up as another talking shop without any tangible outcome.
