Alliance for a Better Zambia President Father Frank Bwalya appeared today before the Kasama Magistrate Court in a case where he is charged with defamation of President Michael Sata.
Fr Bwalya, who is represented by Lusaka lawyer Sunday Nkonde, is expected to bring to the stands his witnesses in the case where his ‘Chumbu Munshololwa’ line has hit international headlines.
The metaphor ‘Chumbu Munshololwa’ likens a person who is inadvisable as being like a potato that breaks when someone attempts to straighten it.
At the last court appearance in March Fr Bwalya had complained to the court that sponsored Patriotic Front cadres had gathered outside the court to harass and intimidate the defendant with unpalatable obscenities.
The outspoken cleric is one of opposition political parties that the PF is trying to stifle by lumping court cases on them.
On Monday UPND leader Hakainde Hichilema appeared in a Lusaka Magistrate Court on a charge of publication of false news.
