The Anti Corruption Commission has instituted criminal investigations against Patriotic Front Mongu Central Member of Parliament Nathaniel Mubukwanu.
Inambao is alleged to have misappropriated K454, 000 Constituency Development Fund according to the 2012 Auditor General’s Report.
Inambao, who is serving as North Western Province Deputy Minister, will wait to hear if he could be asked to step aside from his position as was done by President Michael Sata in the case of Rogers Mwewa and Ronald Chitotela who were dismissed following revelations of misappropriation of funds by the Auditor General’s Office.
Anti Corruption Commission Public Relations Manager Timothy Moono confirmed Mubukwanu was under graft probe after the ACC had a look at the Auditor General’s Report.
“We have studied the Auditor General’s Report for 2012 and can confirm that the Honourable MP for Mongu Central is under investigation. There are some more but I am very sure about that the Mongu MP,” Moono said.
The Auditor General’s office has endured frustration over the years over the ACC’S reluctance to act on the report that often reveals glaring plundering of public resources.
