Disgraced former Patriotic Front Southern Province political secretary Brian Hapunda is back on the political radar trying to weave his way back to the limelight by making media statements.
Hapunda, who was fired from his political position for soliciting for bribes from the business community in Southern Province in the name of the Patriotic Front, says the ruling party has made inroads in his former political posting and will win some seats during the next election.
The former University of Zambia Students Union Secretary General was expelled from the University of Zambia after being caught with a leakage in the examination room.
He said the PF had been welcomed in Southern Province and will claim some parliamentary seats at the next general election.
“The PF in Southern Province has continued to grow and will be able to win some seats in the next elections,” he said.
“The people of Southern Province have welcomed the PF and are very happy with the developmental projects and have opened the door.”
The PF has only one of 18 parliamentary seats in Southern Province and have struggled to penetrate that political constituency.
