The Electoral Commission of Zambia says it is ready for tomorrow’s nomination for next month’s Mangango parliamentary by-election.
The UPND has announced the adoption of a local businessman and former UPND Mangango Ward Councillor, Godwin Putu as its candidate in the August 19 Mangango parliamentary by-elections.
Contestants for the Mangango parliamentary seat are expected to file their nominations tomorrow in Kaoma ahead of the August, 19th poll.
The Mangango seat fell vacant following the nullification of MMD’s Taudi Chiseka’s election by the Supreme Court.
The ruling Patriotic Front is reportedly courting Chiseka who was serving as Deputy Minister in the PF government against his party’s wishes.
Chiseka was almost deported by the PF in 2011 on allegation that he was a foreigner.
