Former Movement for Multi Party Democracy (MMD) vice President Michael Kaingu has climbed down his high horse to pledge loyalty to party president Nevers Mumba.
Kaingu who was stripped of his vice presidency alongside four other senior members after clandestinely attempting to sell out the MMD to the PF said that the future of the former ruling party is now in the hands of the Nevers Mumba and newly elected general secretary Muhabi Lungu.
Kaingu said he was still a loyal member of the MMD despite being stripped of his senior position.
“The future of our party is in the hands of our president and the new party general secretary,” he said.
“I think what is important is that I am still a Member of Parliament for Mwandi Constituency.”
Kaingu said that he was still meeting his financial obligations to the party.
“I cannot discuss the general election now. What is driving me is to serve the people of Zambia,” he said.
“I will cross the bridge when I reach otherwise I am contributing I pay K2, 500 every month.”
