The Kabwe Magistrates Court has acquitted freelance journalist Wilson Pondamali over a charge of stealing a book.
Pondamali, who is one of the journalists being persecuted for being suspected to be a contributor to the Zambian Watchdog, however still has to endure one more case of allegedly being in possession of military pamphlets.
The Kabwe based scribe is on the state hit list that has also former Evelyn Hone College lecturer Clayson Hamasaka and freelance journalist Thomas Zyambo.
Pondamali was acquitted by the court on insufficient evidence against him.
He is expected to be back in court on September, 9th on his charge of allegedly being in possession of military pamphlets.
Pondamali is being represented by prominent lawyer Mulilo Kabesha.
