Nico LabohmThe Football Association has appointed Dutchman Nico Labohm to assist Honour Janza in qualifying Zambia to the 2015 Morocco Africa Cup.

Labohm was unveiled at Heroes Stadium by FAZ President Kalusha Bwalya and is said to have a deal to last until November when the qualifiers end.

The appointment rings of alarm bells following a poor start to the qualifiers that have seen Zambia lie third on the log after two games with one point.

Bwalya said Labohm will deputize Janza to join Davies Phiri and Chintu Kampamba.

He will stay but it depends if he has other offers if he enjoys working here he will stay.

“We want to make a presentation of somebody you have not seen with the technical bench we have added one more player, one more coach Mr Nico Labohm,” Bwalya said.

“He is from Holland an instructor, coach he is started from Holland everywhere he has been Hong Kong, Suriname, Ukraine, South Africa and here in Zambia.”

The sudden surfacing of Labohm comes shortly after Sports Minister Chishimba Kambwili called for the re-enforcement of the technical bench.

Zambia plays Niger on Saturday away in Niamey and at home in Ndola on Wednesday in back to back Africa Cup qualifiers.
