The Local Government Service Commission has with immediate effect transfered Solwezi Town Clerk Ronald Daka to Mbala District.
A source from the ministry has confirmed the development saying the man is too corrupt and his acts became too open.
Apparently, Daka’s corrupt activities became so open that people from the ministry felt bad of his carelessness.
“He has some connections in the ministry so they can’t fire him, because even before he came to Solwezi it was the same in Chipata,” a source said.
Daka, who is believed to be angry with the move, wanted to get a long leave and sort out his transfer issues with the ministry but was disturbed when his replacement is already preparing to settle in Solwezi.
“The Man (Daka) was not happy so he tried to make a few phone calls but that did not help him,” a source said.
Daka has been enganging himself in a lot of corrupt activities with the mines and other investors in the district.
Recently, he pushed councillors to approve the construction of a three storey building in Solwezi which led to residents almost protesting.
The source disclosed that in what is likely to be a swap a Mr Mwansa from Mbala is likely to take over from Daka.
“Am telling you people are happy because “Daka” is leaving you think people liked him? Its his time to go elsewhere, the chap grew big headed,” a resident of solwezi said.
“His hands are dirty I wonder why he doesn’t get fired because others are being arrested like we heard in Livingstone, its clear the young man is untouchable.”
A source from the Ministry of Local Government and Housing said, “his transfer was expected because some people here (ministry) were not happy of his conduct, but he has milked money from those mines in Solwezi.”
A few months ago Daka suspended his Director of Finance a Mr Kasapatu for over paying him with over K 40,000 after the scum was exposed.
