ZESCO says the company is loosing about K2 million on the infrastructure being vandalised across the country annually.
ZESCO Spokesperson Henry Kapata says the power utility Company has since engage the state Police to help curb the vice that is deterring their progress in providing quality Power Supply.
Speaking in Kitwe, Mr Kapata Said the on going Vandalism of ZESCO is what is leading to unplanned loadingsheding in the country.
“we are loosing so much money because of Vandalism on Zesco infrastructure, I can tell you that we are loosing about K 2 million annually due to vandalism,” Kapata said
Kapata said the resources being used to repair vandalised equipment are going to worst because such monies are suppose to be channelled to other projects that are aimed at connecting whole country to the national grid.
“Our aim is to continue supplying electricity to all parts of the country but vandalism is hindering our progress” Kapata added
