UPND president Hakainde Hichilema has sent a message of goodwill to Elias Chipimo Snr after revelations that he was unwell subsequently forcing his son to withdraw from campaigns ahead of the January 20 election.
Below is Hichilema’s message
I am saddened to hear that Elias Chipimo Snr is unwell. I wish his family all the best and pray for his speedy recovery.
The temporary withdrawal of NAREP President Elias Chipimo Jnr from the presidential race is an unfortunate but understandable consequence given the circumstances.
We look forward to future opportunities to agree and disagree with Mr Chipimo in the political arena, as is natural and healthy in a democracy.
